Dr. Jessica Haines

Dr. Jessica Haines is an assistant professor at MacEwan University. She is a wildlife and conservation biologist who works on Franklin's ground squirrel conservation in Alberta in collaboration with Nature Alberta. She also enjoys teaching undergraduate classes and sharing her knowledge at public events - especially if she gets to talk about squirrels! In her spare time she likes to be outdoors exploring nature while hiking, fishing, or hunting, usually accompanied by her two Labrador retrievers.

Project Partner Nature Alberta

Nature Alberta is collaborating with Dr. Jessica Haines on a citizen science project focused on the Franklin’s ground squirrel. You can help us fill the information gap on Franklins’s ground squirrels in Alberta by going to https://naturealberta.ca/ground-squirrel/ where you can learn more and submit your own sightings of this elusive species.
